Sir Edmond Gin

Distilled in Schiedam, this brand uses Bourbon vanilla from the islands of Réunion and Madagascar to infuse their gin with, thus creating their unique flavour palette.
Sir Edmond is known for being the world’s first vanilla infused gin.
Sir Edmond gets its name from Mr Edmond Albius. In 1841 Edmond discovered that vanilla orchids could be artificially pollinated by hand. Born a slave in Sainte-Suzanne, a commune in the north coast of the Frensh island of Reunion, the 12 year old boy needed little more than a blade of grass and a quick flick of this thumb to revolutionise the cultivation of vanilla.
In honour of this man’s legacy, Sir Edmond Gin named their brand after the man who unknowingly changed the vanilla industry.
